A beautiful rainbow arcs over a mountain boasting peak fall foliage. For a 2-hour span on the afternoon that this photo was taken, rainbows were constantly appearing and reappearing as the light filtered through a stormy sky while I explored New Hampshire’s White Mountains. The experience of viewing and photographing such beauty was most certainly the highlight of a weeklong trip to the Whites. Until I witnessed the most intense display of northern lights that I’ve ever experienced just a few hours later, that is. Talk about an unforgettable – and incredibly colorful – day in the mountains!
