While hardwoods such as maple, birch and aspen steal the show in autumn, as the temperature drops and snow begins to fall, it becomes time for the evergreens to shine. Stately evergreens caked with freshly fallen snow is one of my personal favorite subjects to photograph, and I was able to capture the one seen in the photo here under a colorful sunrise sky. There is no place that I feel more alive, more connected to what is important, than the wilderness.
